Yes, it’s been exactly one month since I’ve written anything here. And I didn’t even plan it to happen this way. I was just bored. I could give two shits about this Super Bowl, or any Super Bowl, for that matter. I’ve already done laundry, baked cookies, watched Ethan write his Valentine cards and made dinner.
Oh, yes….I’ve become domestic. And by force, not choice. But now that it’s happened, it is the best thing to happen to me in a long time. Yes, on a Friday afternoon (January 12 to be exact) my boss called me into his office and told me I was fired. We argued about this for about 45 minutes, during which time he told me he loved me, that I was the smartest “girl” in the office, and that we’ve become too good of friends to work together. And then he offered me one month’s salary, and to pay for my and Ethan’s medical insurance thorugh April 1. I’ll take it!
Ethan finished up his afterschool program at the Wave on the 31st of the month, and I’ve been taking him to his elementary school half day Kindergarten class each morning, and picking him up just before lunch each day. He loves it. He also told me that he doesn’t ever want me to go back to work again. It melts my heart. And for now, I am a stay at home Mom, and plan to be through the summer, at the very least. I want to be on the beach every day this summer, not behind a desk.
That’s pretty much what’s been going on in my life. I couldn’t ask for things to be any better right now.
