Ten on Tuesday

Ten countries I’d like to visit:

1.  Kenya.  I’m going on a luxury safari one day.  If I have to go alone, I’m going.

2.  Maldives.  Kurumba Resort.  Because I deserve it.

3.  Santorini, Greece.  The most beautiful blue and white in the world.

4.  Bali, Indonesia.  Who wouldn’t?

5.  Egypt.  I want to ride a camel.  I want to see the pyramids.

6.  Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  For the incredible beaches.

7.  Bora Bora.  The Bora Bora Lagoon Resort.

8.  Tuscany, Italy.  For a peaceful, countryside retreat.

9.  St. Barthelemy, France.  Have you picked up on my vacation of choice yet?

10.  Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur.  I know it’s in California, but I want to go!

Fore ! ! !

Adam bought Ethan a set of clubs for his birthday.  This morning they headed to the golf course.  I cannot wait to hear how ”Mr. I know how to do everything” did taking instruction from ”Mr. Black and White/No Gray.”

I went golfing with Adam a couple of times.  The last time he had me in tears, sitting in the cart pouting.  It turned out well though because the guy that drives around the golf course checking things out (There’s a name for those guys.  I just don’t know it.) tore him a new asshole for expecting perfection and not being patient with such a sweet girl.  Gotta love those 75 year old men who work on the golf courses.

That other boy at the pool today…

Ethan and I went to the pool yesterday around 3:00.   We had hung out in the house all day playing with his new stuff, and then he decided he wanted to go.   I told him we were just going to swim, and all we brought were towels and his new super soaker.   We were there not ten minutes before he started acting like a fool.   I told him to sit out for a few minutes, and then he walked over and yelled right in my ear.   We immediately left, and he said he was going up to his room to take a nap.   He came down about 15 minutes later, and starting asking me about the boy who went to the pool with me while he was asleep.   A boy that looked like him, but wasn’t him.  He went on and on with this story all night, giving more details as the night went on.  At 11:30 last night he finally told Adam that someone must have put something in his drink.  What the hell?

I am so damn awesome!

This morning I had to run to 7-11 to get a stamp.  When I returned from our little jaunt, I looked down at my feet and noticed this.

It’s not enough that I’m wearing two different flip flops.  I was wearing two lefties.  Add to this, a nice little bright red sundress, and the purchase of a large slurpee and some chocolate donuts for my son, and I am sure that the entire store was looking at me as though I was some meth head from the park.

You’re SIX!

You are six years old.  Six years old.  Six!  I sit hear writing to you with such bittersweet memories flowing through my head.  At the same time, I can’t help but think about how quickly the next few years will go.

Right now, you are still my baby.  In fact, you will always be my baby.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ETHAN!

I should really try a lot harder…

I truly need to keep my blog updated.  I didn’t realize how much it could mean in a few years until I started looking through my archives.

My little boy will be six on Wednesday, and I need to continue to capture his sweet personality and his crazy side, as well.  I looked at pictures from a year ago, and cannot believe how he’s changed.  His language, which remains quite colorful at times, lights up my life on a regular basis.  The shape of his face, which has totally lost the baby chub.  His interests, his likes, his dislikes.

Today I resolve to capture more memories, to share more moments, to find a way to remember it all.
