These horses were on the beach during Sunday’s Neptune Festival. All this week they have been in a little corral at 31st Street, saddles hung on the fence, looking as though are ready for riding. I’m wondering if they might be available to rent during the days of Indian Summer. I can’t imagine Virginia Beach has finally done something totally out of their comfort zone. But you never know. Guess I need to ask the guy standing around the corral.

Ethan and I spent the afternoon at the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival. We had such a good time. Watched the surfing contest, looked at the art show, ran into lots of friends, ate chocolate covered strawberries and bananas and especially enjoyed this year’s sandcastle competition.
You can see more of the pictures from the festival here.

Why, for the love of God, would anyone in their right mind break into a Family Dollar store to steal women’s clothing?
From WAVY TV 10:
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk police are looking for a suspect accused of robbing a Family Dollar Store Monday morning around 3 a.m.
According to police, the suspect shattered the front door and fled the scene with an assortment of women’s clothing.
The suspect has been described as an unshaven, black male in his 30s, weighing about 165 pounds and about 5’6″ tall. He was last seen wearing work gloves, a long sleeve camouflage shirt and black pants.
Take a look at the attached surveillance photos of the suspect. If you can help police identify the man shown, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

Since I was a little girl, probably around Ethan’s age, I have always wanted an Afghan Hound. For my birthday every year, I would always choose as my party to take a few friends and go to the Tidewater AKC dog show at the Norfolk Scope. It didn’t matter if my friends were big dog fans or not. I’d buy them popcorn, candy and drinks and we’d run around the dog show looking at the dogs, and I’d always end up around the Afghan Hounds, dreaming of having one in my life one day.
Over the weekend, we came across this beautiful black and silver Afghan Hound, and I immediately felt that desire all over again. One day I’ll have one, but I know I will have to just sneak it in and tell Adam that I found it wandering alone on the road, similar to the way I would find seek out and bring dogs home to my parents’ house many years ago.

Stephen’s girlfriend, Ashley, is a design consultant for the exclusive baby/children’s home furnishings company, Posh Tots. In addition to furniture, bedding and accessories, they sell a little clothing, baby gear, gifts and some very elaborate play houses. Ashley used this photo of Ethan and their dog, Odus, on the company website to advertise this LCD frame. You can check it out here. I almost feel like I should buy one, but this one’s definitely not in my budget. They really do have some scrumptious stuff though. Take a look around their website.
