A Halloween Conversation with Ethan

Ethan: Mom, are you scared of zombies?

Me: No

Ethan: Ghosts?

Me: No

Ethan: Werewolves?

Me: No

Ethan: Vampires?

Me: No

Ethan: Bleeding Chest Skeletons?

Me: No

Ethan: None of those things?

Me: Nope, I’m not really scared of stuff like that.

Ethan: What about a bird in the pool bathroom, that’s stuck up in the window, flapping its wings and trying to get out while you try to chase it out with a broom and scream like a girl? Are you scared of that?

October on the Ocean

Misty and I took the kids to the oceanfront today to play on the playground, roll around in the sand, walk the boardwalk, and to have fun, goof off and see what we could discover.

See more photos from our adventure here.

Soccer Saturday

We had an early game today, and will have a repeat of that for the next two weeks. Up at 6:30, out the door at 7:00, on the fields by 7:30 and game started at 8:00. And we WON! The kids did great today.

Crazy Hair Day

Today’s Red Ribbon Week theme Is “Using Drugs is Crazy” and the kids had to do something crazy with their hair. Ethan chose to do his hair in BRIGHT GREEN hair paint.

Ooops!

I forgot yesterday’s post, and I’m okay with that. Yesterday was a full, fun day and if fun makes me forget then so be it.  I had already missed a day in my 365 when we were away camping for a couple of days.  I made up for that by doing two posts the day we left.  I’ll let this be my makeup post for yesterday’s skip, and I’ll just throw in a post later tonight.  After all, it should really be what you post, and not how often you post.  This is my spot for keeping my memories and thoughts.

A full day…

Started out early this morning with getting Ethan and Kaiden to Jump Rope Club at 7:15. Came home in the pouring rain, and Janet and I decided to go ahead and attempt our daily walk on the boardwalk. I am amazed that we did it as hard as it was pouring. We carried umbrellas, kept up our pace, and walked five miles. By the time we were done, we were SOAKED. The pants I wore are hanging up, and are still wet. After my walk, I headed to the mall to get tomorrow’s birthday girl her present. I love what I got her, and I hope she is as happy with it as I am. Left the mall and headed to school to pick Ethan and Kaiden up at 4 from KIDS club. Stopped by Panera, and they had bagels and I had a much needed cup of coffee. Stopped by a cute little gift shop, and bought my first two Christmas ornaments for this year. Not that I needed them, but I always buy at least two ornaments each year. My tree branches definitely runneth over. By the time Ethan and I got home it was 6:00, and I told Adam we were going out to dinner. Got home after 7:00 and Ethan started his homework while I started making brownies for tomorrow’s Harvest Festival at school. The last batch of brownies is still in the oven, and I am looking forward to taking a break and enjoying tonight’s episode of Project Runway.

Meredith is Horny

My friend Janet was telling me about this video during our walk today.  It’s quite funny, and the Navy pilot in the video is stationed in Virginia Beach, which gives it a hometown connection.  Cute stuff.

Dropping Temps

I know tons of people who love 60 degree temps.  However, I can’t get past the thought that cooler temperatures will soon follow.  Tomorrow’s temps in the 60s will be fine for walking the beach, but I know I’ll soon need warmer clothes.  I think I’ll go buy myself some cute winter exercise outfits to help me get over the fact that I won’t have many more 78 degree days like we had today.
